We’ve just taken delivery of 32+ new Oakley frames at our Caerphilly Practice. I personally love these frames and own a pair of Oakley Planks myself. I put a pair of Essilor Ormix 1.6 – Scotchguard Forte lenses in them a few months ago and they look amazing.

However, these new frames are enticing me again – I particularly like the Fat Cat and Muffler frames – I do love a solid plastic frame.

The Fat Cat plastic frame features a new sprung hinge, which negates the need for a traditional coil spring (see below). The new sprung hinge gives a nice secure yet comfortable feel when worn.

This hinge is also featured on a few other frames including the Twin Shock and Mono Shock. Both are very light but also feel very strong.
